Holy hell this book!! Gripped me from the get go, I literally could not read the words fast enough!! I had a complete book binge and read in one sitting!!

Joshua Phoenix FBI Agent, set to go undercover in what potentially could be the defining case of his career. About to be thrust deep into the Russian Mafia his world is about to be thrown upside down as he is integrated into disturbing criminal activity including drugs and human trafficking. It’s dark and dangerous and the things he will be forced to do will haunt him forever and the lives they will destroy along the way will never be the same again…and then he met her…while on a date from hell…one last blowout before his mission starts…

"I see you don't suffer from coulrophobia." came a soft whisper from my right.

"What?" I asked

"The fear of clowns," She stated

"Coulrophobia."

" I was referring to your date. She kinda resembles a clown."

I could no longer hold back my own smile "I f*****g hate clowns.”

"So if you don't mind me asking, how did you get stuck with Lipstick Lizard over there?”

Gabrielle (Gabby) Shannon, comes into his world by chance and leaves him questioning everything he ever wanted, she consumes his every thought and ultimately leaves him questioning his ability to complete his mission. Leaving now would only risk the lives of those around him including the other agents on the same mission. But then disaster strikes and his cover is blown forcing Josh to make a drastic decision that will reroute his entire future resulting in those he swore to protect suffering the most…

I loved this story, it was riveting! There was more twist and turns none of which I saw coming . Told through dual POV I felt instantly connected to both Josh and Gabby and felt every emotion they went through. I loved the dynamics of their relationship and thought the author gave them a real depth mixed with witty banter and genuine relatable heartfelt feelings for one another. I enjoyed the banter between Gabby and her sister Brooke, some of the one liner’s were hilarious. Again I felt the secondary characters had depth, were connectable and enhanced the plotline. The plotline flowed…my only criticism was that I WANTED more!! Oh and it ended on a cliffhanger!!

Would highly recommend to readers who enjoy a fast action packed, suspenseful, gripping mafia read mixed with a highly emotive love story.

This is my first book by C.A. Harms and I’ll definitely read more from her.

“I like the red ones,” Josh said before turning back toward the display of lingerie. “Oh, and this color. Is that teal?” He lifted up the pair of panties and held them out before him. 

I smiled as a younger guy three feet away ducked his head in embarrassment.

“Now these would look fucking amazing on you. Damn, baby.” Josh’s eyes gleamed in excitement as he looked up at me. “I may go broke if you keep bringing me to places like these.”

I giggled as I grabbed the pink, lacy, and completely see-through nightie he held in his other hand.

“We’ll take one of these in every color you have,” he hollered to the clerk. 

I hid my head against his chest and tickled his sides.

“What?” he grunted and tried to pull back from my assault. “You can’t blame me for trying, sweetheart.

Forget about getting dressed daily. I think you should live in these nighties.”

I tilted my head and looked up at him. “You are insatiable.” I rose up on my tiptoes, bringing my lips close to his. “And extremely adorable.”

He closed the distance and kissed me, wrapping his arm around my waist securely. His tongue rolled with mine, and for a moment I forgot we were standing in the center of a department store. Someone cleared their throat, and I broke the kiss to look over my shoulder. An older salesperson was giving us a disapproving glare. 

“Sorry,” I offered. When I turned back to face Josh, he was grinning from ear to ear. 

“So—” He waggled his eyebrows suggestively. “—we are getting some of these. Right?”

I lifted up the light pink nightie and shook it in front of his face. “We’ll get this one and the red one,” I assured him as I walked toward the sales clerk at the checkout counter. When I looked back over my shoulder, Josh was smiling brightly and following close behind. 

“Now that’s my girl. Looks like tonight we’re staying in.” 

I rolled my eyes and turned forward again as he chuckled.

C.A. Harms is like any other addicted reader. She enjoys happy endings and HEA love stories. She hasn't always been a lover of Romance and had once been addicted to a good Mystery. Just recently she has taken on a new liking and now is a full blown Romance novel addict.

She lives in Illinois and enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. You will always find her with her kindle or paperback in hand as it is her favorite pass time.
