Desperate to distance herself from her problems, she runs, taking the first job in her field that she finds willing to take on someone with so little experience.
The last thing she needs is a perpetually pissed off partner, especially when he sets her blood on fire.
But life doesn’t ask how much you can handle when it dishes out challenges. It just keeps piling them on until you’ve bested them or you’ve buckled under them.

Sean really doesn’t want to like his new partner, Naomi. He just wants to be left alone to live his life however he damn well pleases and without complications.
Naomi doesn’t care what he wants, she can’t be anything but herself. It isn’t long before she’s breaking down his walls and making him feel again. She’s trying to pull him closer and he’s pushing her away.
It’s not long before Sean sees the error of his ways.
It’s too bad, though, that by the time he realizes she’s the one, Naomi’s already gone.

This is the series that really started me as a fan of MC. The club is loyal and the members protect, live, and work in the town. The President is the Chief of Police. Sean, his son, is a paramedic who meets Naomi when she transfers to his company after recovering from a serious auto accident.
Sean is on a break from women, after all, his serious success rate sucks. Seeing his ex with a brother from the club every day hasn't put him in the mood to try again. Naomi might just change that.
Naomi hasn't had much better results. She's not getting involved either, but man is her partner hot--and his beard. Hard to resist the whole package. Naomi is tough and has a sense of humor that makes her immediately acceptable to the club. You see her humor in her first gift to Sean. The time of the delivery is too bad for him--great for her.
These two are stubborn and slow to trust. Their relationship starts slow, just working friends until he breaks the boundary and invites her on a ride with the club. It was the best day ever until it wasn't. Still, it moved them forward.
The caring side of each is shown in their job and with their families and friends. They almost give up on each other more than once. There is a special dog with a unique attitude, but one Sean can't abandon, no matter how much he wants. Can they get past the mistrust? And danger. When it sneaks up on them are they prepared?
This one has tender moments, danger, steam, humor, and loyalty. A good continuation of the series. I'm anxious to see whose next. A solid recommend.
